Pumping

  • Did you know you should be measured and fitted for a flange size prior to pumping. This ensures you have the correct fit to help yield the most amount of milk. Inadequate flange sizes can cause trauma and impact milk supply.

  • It is also advised to use a hospital grade pump when expressing which in the long term, saves you time and money.

  • Pumping should not hurt. Women think that if they turn the settings up that this will make more milk. This is not the case and can cause trauma to the nipple and areola.

  • Pump time is ideally 15-20 minutes max.
